IW Club of Suadiye 2008-2009 Activity Report

On 09.09.2008 we have had our board meeting to make final decisions about our projects to realise during the term, committees were fixed.

We decided to continue grants for 15 University + 5 High school students.

We have donated a set of Library shelves to Sevgi Library as a project of Şişli Rotary Club.

We have established 2 class for reading & writing in Turkish for ladies between 16 and 65 year old at Kadıköy Municipal School center.We will issue certificates on May 2009.

On Sep. 13 we have organized a Ramazan İftar Dinner meeting at Mabeyin Restaurant ,together with our husbands. The raised fund was used for the supply of food and hygienic materials for the students of Istanbul Kadıköy Girls college.

On October 13.we have participated (as board members) to district assembly. The district Mgr Ayşe Alkış has presented their projects and we decided to support them.

On October 14 We met with Club members at Moda Deniz Club on occasion of President's Tea party.

On October 16 we met on the Lunch organized by Nurdan Kuran spouse of Rotary District governor.

On October 28 we placed a wreath to the statue of Atatürk at Taksim square as part of Republic day commemorations.

On Nov.4 We made a city tour to Eyüp-Balat-Fener area with the participation of 44 members.

On Nov 7 we have participated the joined meeting of Bursa yıldırım bayezid and İzmir Konak Clubs,On Nov 11 we participated Beyoğlu IW club meeting.

On Dec.17-18 we visited and supported the kermes organized by District. Governor’s spouse Nuran Karul.

On Dec 23 we have realized our yearly Kermes with a large attendance.

On Jan 8 we have participated the Lunch on the commemoration of International Innerwheel foundation.

On Jan 10 We have organized our 2.hand material kermes at mentally handicapped children school at Ümraniye. We have joined the funds of IW and Suadiye Rotary to aid school management.

On Feb 01 we have organized a theater show at Oyun Atölyesi Thaeter,the raised fund was used for the eye operation of an 18 month old baby Kaan Yılmaz at Çapa Medical center ,oncology dept.

We supplied a fund of 200 Tl to Int IW for the “Education of jung girls” which will end this year.This fund will be send to Int.IW.

On March 14 we have organized a Lunch together with blind students of Sabancı School.

On March 17 we played our traditional Bingo game.

On April we met the beneficiary students of our grants at Fenerbahçe Romantika café house we gave them some presents.

On May we have purchased 25 issue of the book called” impossible angels”in order to support Ç.Y.D.D

The last Activity of the term was to donate 2 computers and 2 projectors to Osmangazi primary school at Pendik Dolayoba.Subject items were delivered to Director of the school, Yakup Soyer.

We will hold the board meeting on Tuesday June.02.2009

IW Club of Suadiye 2008-2009 Spina Bifida Activity Report

On Jan 20 We have participated Spina Bfida education seminar with 6 members

On Jan 21 we have supported the fashion show at Sait Halim Paşa Yalısı with 25 Club members.

Club members Şaziye Şemin & Pervin Kaynak gave their seminar at the family support center.

We have distributed 4.500 printed brochures about Spina Bifida to wedding couples at Kadıköy Medine Hanım Wedding center and related health center.

On March 09 we gave a seminar on Spina Bfida to Suadiye Rotaract members by the help of our Member Dr.Betül Şengör.

On March 16 we gave a seminar on Spina Bfida to Kadıköy girls collage students by the help of our Member Dr.Betül Şengör.


On April 26 we have participated the spring festival organized at Göztepe Özürlük park with 4 desks explaining our project on Spina Bfida.The raised fund was delivered to our District acountent.


We gave an explanatory CD on Spina Bfida to Suadiye Rotaract candidate Inci Batur rom Yeditepe University 2. class Med.school. She will distribute them in Şanlıurfa rural area during summer vacation On May 12 Our member Dr.Betül Şengör gave a seminar on Spina Bfida to Suadiye IW Club members.
